At Broadway Neighbourhood Centre, we strive to acquire grants and funding in order to run our wide range of programs and services as it is a priority for us to provide these programs for free. Our programs are a reflection of our values and morals at the BNC as we instill ideas like diversity and solidarity onto our youth. The youth of the West Broadway community depend on such programs as they provide a safe and fun space where they can be themselves and confide in our incredible youth staff.
The following programs are curated in such a way that adheres to the needs and requests of the community:
Just TV provides youth with opportunities to express themselves through multimedia in a safe, fun, creative environment.
Youth Creators Club
Youth Creators Club (YCC) is a program that aims to cultivate young creatives in their artistic endeavors and help them discover their own unique creative process.
Zam Mi Nan Aki
This program provides participants the opportunity to learn ancient Indigenous knowledge and teachings from respected Elders and community leaders.
Rotary Leadership Circle
The Rotary Leadership Circle is a program that provides a select group of children the opportunity to work over the summer months volunteering at local staples like Siloam mission and Winnipeg Harvest, in the surrounding community and on site.
We strive to help kids better understand their homework by giving them a one-on-one session in a tutor-like environment.
SPIN enables the children to participate and learn basic skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership and fair play in a non-competitive environment.
With the help of a staff, the youth participate in making their lunch for school the next day.
Kids Cooking is an educational program that teaches youth how to prepare healthy meals and to adapt healthier eating habits.
In combination with our Kids Cooking program, Lighthouse promotes healthy eating by serving nutritious foods and beverages to encourage good health and habits in our youth.
Thanks to our friends at Camp Manitou, we are able to provide our youth with the opportunity to partake in a day camp during the summer months.
Once a week an organized group of community seniors gathers at the Broadway Neighbourhood Centre to remain physically active through the sport of Pickle Ball.
Whether you’re a novice or a pro, come join us every Tuesday at the BNC and exercise your brain!
