Episode 2: Renée Lamoureux

With the release of her 2019 album ‘EMPOWER’, award-winning Metis artist, Renée Lamoureux has been making her mark in the mainstream music for over two decades. Nominated for a 2020 Juno Award-Adult Contemporary Album of the Year, Renée is currently working on her 10th album, as an independent artist, to be launched in 2021.

Throughout the last two decades, she has toured across North America. Her career highlights include supporting tours for major artists such as Jann Arden, Dean Brody and Dallas Smith with her previous band: Keith and Renee. Renée has always genuinely connected with her audience, sharing her message of empowerment and optimism on how music can heal.

Renée’s previous project ‘Dare to be You’ garnered the winning award for Best Female Artist in 2016 at the Manitoba Music Awards. The album was up for two Indigenous Music Awards two consecutive years in a row and her single ‘Two Step’ hit at #1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown.

Renée performed in Australia representing Indigenous Artists of Canada as she launched her latest album EMPOWER.
