Committed to providing the highest quality recreational, social, health, educational, and employment training program and services to all ages.
The Broadway Neighbourhood Centre (BNC), Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to providing the highest quality recreational, social, health, educational, and employment training programs and services. The primary focus of the Centre is the local neighbourhood and the Centre responds to the issues, needs and strengths of the neighbourhood through specialized, flexible and innovative solutions.
The Broadway Neighbourhood Centre delivers a wide range of programs and services. The Centre has been in existence since 1947. An integral part of the community throughout the years, the Centre has continually worked to change along with the community. The Centre revises and updates its programs on an ongoing basis as the needs of the community are expressed to us. While our target population includes residents of the West Broadway area, the Centre also welcomes participants from across the city. While there is great ethnic diversity, the proportion of Aboriginal people living in the area is among the highest in Winnipeg. The demographics also tell the story that a large percentage of people in the area are experiencing personal problems related to housing and well-being. BNC was created in response to these local needs and challenges. The Centre’s diverse programs and service partnerships support youth, adults, and families in areas of education, prevention, recreation, culture, and life skills development.
