Participants of West Broadway’s Annual SnoBall Winter Carnival got a surprise Saturday at 2 PM when the local community organizations presented Edward Carriere, famed salon owner, with a plaque and the prestige honour of having the rink named after him, the Edward Carriere Community Rink.

The rink behind the centre is part of the half a million dollar greenspace development project at the BNC and the rink is open for all to enjoy in the wintertime.  Edward Carriere has taken the responsibility upon himself to make sure that the rink is flooded and shovelled early mornings after snow falls.  To show our appreciation for his dedication to the rink, he was presented with a plaque and was also the first recipient of the Edward Carriere, Shovel of Excellence.  Congratulations Edward and thank you for all of your hard work!!
